Hey man, I loved trying out your game! Love that you yourself don't have to control the individual bots, very creative! I do advise you to look into creating some audio settings, that way the player can control audio from inside the game instead of manually changing their volumemix. Perhaps you could even divide the audio settings into dialogue and ambiance for full control to the player.
Innovation – Cool how you can just focus on building while your bots do all the work, really gives you the feeling that you are a commander and not a god that is in control of everything.
Fun – The game is pretty fun, but for me I think it still lacks some more types of bots.
Graphics – Liked your buildings and bots as well as their animations! Also liked the floating dust! Really adds some atmosphere!
Audio – The ambiance is lacking but I really enjoyed the voice lines and their different mic effects!
Polish – Looks great and feels great! I did see a bot clipping through the map while navigating to a place further away, maybe look into that. But overall well polished, I enjoyed it very much!
Many thanks for your feedback! That is very helpful. I will work on the things you brought up in the next update.
Sound: I will follow your suggestion and add separate volume controls, as well as a master control
More Units: That is my weak spot - I need 2-3 weeks to design a single unit or building, will add more units over time! (4 are in queue)
Clipping on Map: Will fix that. There is a 2d grid-map for pathfinding that probably has an error.
Hey, I tested your game :)
Here are some commentsWhat I liked:
The idea that I have to optimize my resource intake and make a perfect balance was really fun.
The tech tree, and that there was different types of resources. At first the constant sending of unit immediately was a bit confusing.. but in the end, I liked it. It was simply a new concept I had to get used to.
What I would improve/change
The uncapped resource deposits, that I could just spam as many harvesters as I wanted, makes no sense, and that there is an unlimited amount of resources, also made no sense, this means that I never need to exapand my colony
The tutorial was insanely slow, and that I had to wait for the voiceover to finish was just not a good experience.
I would create a better and more controlled progression in the game itself, so that a tutorial was not needed.
Wow, many thanks! That is very helpful. Really cool to see someone play the game for the first time. Gave me a lot of ideas for improvements.
Yes, seeing someone play the game usually really tells a lot more than getting people to talk :) I love seing people playing my games.. its horrible to see them find all my bugs.. but at the same time, its great to see them find all my bugs :D haha
Thanks for sharing your game with me.
